What should adults put behind them according to verse 11?
Childish ways of acting and thinking must be put away.
How will we one day “see” according to verse 12?
One day we will see God face to face! Amazing, can’t wait!
What is the greatest virtue?
Clearly, unmistakably, it is love.
So how should the Corinthians “grow up” in regard to their treatment of each other?
The Corinthians and ourselves, must grow up in love. No matter what else we are doing, love trumps everything. It’s absence trains other activities of value and its presence infuses spiritual value. We have got to learn how to love in the Spirit’s power.
How should Paul’s assertion that while now we “see only a reflection, as in a mirror,” but one day we will “see face to face” give us comfort and create anticipation for what’s to come?
Even though today many issues are confusing, at times God seems absent, yet one day, one day, we will see him face to face. All will become clear, not like a reflection in a mirror, but in direct sight of the real thing. Today we know in part, then we will know fully when we see Him, the Creator, the King, God almighty.
